This position is full-time, fiscal year appointments and the start date is flexible.
The successful candidate will work jointly with Dr. Shepherd and Dr. Pressé to develop quantitative approaches to understanding regulatory networks and physical constraints dictating dynamical behavior in living systems. For example, using fluorescence imaging and quantitative image analysis to unravel environmental sensing at the single molecule level. As such, our work trains postdocs and fosters cross-disciplinary knowledge across fields including optics, fluorescence imaging, and single molecule methods. The postdoc hired herein will collaborate closely with theorists and graduate students. Group websites: https://shepherdlaboratory.org and http://statphysbio.physics.asu.edu
Minimum qualifications: Applicants should hold a doctorate in a subfield relevant to experimental molecular & cellular biology/biophysics or single-molecule studies by the time of appointment, but no earlier than five years before the start date.
Desired qualifications: Knowledge in the following areas is helpful but not required: Programming, fluorescence microscopy, wet bench work, image analysis.
To apply, please send electronically to spresse@asu.edu the following materials: (a) a cover letter, (b) a CV including a full publication list, (c) the names and contact details of three references (i.e., no letters yet!). For more information about the position, please contact spresse@asu.edu.
