The Center for Theoretical Neuroscience (CTN) at Columbia University is looking to fill an Associate Research Scientist position to facilitate research on the inner workings of the mouse visual cortex. The candidate will build mathematical models that provide mechanistic explanations of how neural circuits in the visual system process information such as natural scenes. The candidate will also model the cortex at increasing degrees of complexity, including different cellular subtypes, cortical layers, and the specific neural connectivity.MD, PhD, or doctorate in related field
Applicants are expected to have a PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Neuroscience, Biology, or a related discipline and, preferably, experience in theoretical neuroscience or the statistical analysis of neuroscience data.
