We invite 2 highly motivated postdoctoral fellows, with research experience in RNA, to join our team at Northwestern University. Leveraging human skin as a powerful research platform, Bao Lab explores new gene regulatory mechanisms underlying adult stem cell maintenance, tissue regeneration, and disease progression. In particular, several of our recent projects highlighted the critical roles of regulatory mechanisms involving RNA and RNA binding proteins. The new projects are designed to apply RNA biology in the context of human skin adult stem cells and disease models, to yield new insights into human health and therapies.
We take pride in the supportive and collaborative research environment. Trainees in the Bao Lab (www.thebaolab.org) are supported by the Department of Molecular Biosciences, Dermatology, Lurie Cancer Center, Skin Biology & Disease Resource-Based Center, and the Institute for Epigenetics. The lab is located in Evanston, ranked as one of the best cities to live in the US, and it is only 13 miles from downtown Chicago.
In addition to experience with RNA biology, good organization/communication skills are essential. Experience with mammalian cells is not required. – We will be happy to train you!
Interested applicants should submit their CV and a cover letter that includes three references to Dr. Xiaomin Bao (firstname.lastname@example.org). Salary will be per the NIH (NRSA) Scale and commensurate with experience.
Northwestern University is an Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action Employer of all protected classes including veterans and individuals with disabilities. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply. Hiring is contingent upon eligibility to work in the United States.
