Summary
A Postdoctoral Associate position is available in the lab of Dr. Tao Wu in the Department of Molecular and Human Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine (https://www.bcm.edu/research/labs/tao-wu). The Wu lab focuses on the dynamic epigenetic regulation and the mechanisms underlying cancer therapeutic resistance; in particular, the functional mechanisms of novel DNA methylation (6mA). We seek to decipher the epigenetic driving force of anticancer therapeutic resistance, define new biomarkers, and develop new approaches to overcome the therapeutic resistance in cancer. We apply multiple wet lab techniques, as well as dry lab genomic profiling and bioinformatics approaches in different cancer model systems.
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Associate whose research will study the epigenetic mechanisms underlying cancer acquired drug-resistance evolution, and the epigenetic functional mechanisms in the cancer innate-immunity regulation. Training background should be on molecular biology, cell biology, cancer biology, and immunology.
Job Duties
Creatively conceive the study, critically design experiments and analyze genomic data.
Conduct molecular and cellular biology experiements.
Perform mouse work related to cancer research: routine maintenance and some surgery.
Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals.
Minimum Qualifications
PhD required in molecular and cell biology, genetics, genomics or bioinformatics.
Preferred Qualifications
Applicants should be self-motivated, open-minded, detail-oriented and collaborative.
Immunology experience.
