The laboratory of Dr. Mingshan Xue (https://www.bcm.edu/research/labs/mingshan-xue) in the Department of Neuroscience at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking applicants for a research technician position. The technician will work in a multi-disciplinary team to study new mouse models of neurodevelopmental disorders and develop gene therapies for these disorders. The technician will have the opportunity to perform a variety of techniques in molecular biology, mouse genetics, mouse behavior, histology, imaging, and electrophysiology. The technician will also be encouraged to independently carry out a research project.
While previous experience in biology and neuroscience is desired, we are also interested in individuals with a background in math, physics, or engineering. Applicants should submit a cover letter stating previous research experience and interest, a CV, and a list of referees.
· Bachelor’s degree.
· Highly motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and eager to conduct independent research and learn a variety of techniques.
· Be able to work for at least 2 years.
