Applications are invited for the role of Postdoctoral Research Assistant in the Dr Pradeepa Madapura’s lab, Blizard Institute, Queen Mary University of London. The Blizard Institute is the largest institute of Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry and aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching and clinical service.
Dr. Madapura’s group investigates the specific role of histone acetyltransferases in tissue-specific gene expression, with a focus on the human neuronal differentiation system and their alterations in neurodevelopmental disorders. We use cutting-edge functional genomics approaches to investigate how distal enhancers regulate genes and role of histone acetylations on enhancer function, with the aim of deciphering specific role of histone acetyltransferase complexes in neuronal specific enhancer activity. The post-holder will analyse epigenomic datasets (ChIP-seq/CutandTag-seq, RNA-seq, Massively Parallel Reporter Assays and promoter capture Hi-C). The data generated will be followed-up for functional validations using genome and epigenome editing methods to identify the function of histone acetyl transferases and candidate enhancer elements.
