The Wunderlich Lab at Boston University has openings for postdoctoral positions (www.wunderlichlab.org). The lab studies the mechanisms of how regulatory DNA, like promoters and enhancers, control gene expression, both in development and in the innate immune response. There are several possible projects available, including the study of evolutionary patterns of early embryonic “shadow” enhancers or the drivers of variation in the innate immune response, using the Drosophila model and newly developed imaging tools. A successful candidate will have a strong interest these areas and have either experimental or computational experience or both.
The lab has an excellent culture, with a supportive, team-oriented working environment and a strong commitment to mentoring and the career and skills development of all the lab members. Opportunities to develop oral and written communication skills, attend scientific conferences and seminars, and develop management and mentoring skills will be available. The Wunderlich lab is affiliated with the Biological Design Center at Boston University (https://bdc.bu.edu), a vibrant multi-disciplinary center.
To apply, send a C.V., cover letter that includes current research interests and motivations for applying to this position, and the names of three references to Zeba Wunderlich (firstname.lastname@example.org). If you have any questions about the position, please feel free to reach out. A PhD or equivalent is required prior to starting this position.
