Postdoctoral Associate (Neal Laboratory)
The Broad Institute of MIT & Harvard is looking for an outstanding postdoctoral associate to join the Neal laboratory ( www.neallab.org ) in the Broad Institute Cancer Program. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary group and perform cutting-edge research on the molecular, cellular and genetic mechanisms of cancer and aging. Specifically, the candidate will use newly-developed single-cell sequencing and optical screening approaches to study tumor-immune interactions, understand chemical and genetic tumor dependencies, and/or map the effects of single nucleotide variation in cancer and other diseases. The candidate will address fundamental scientific questions, formulate hypotheses, design and execute experiments, analyze and interpret data, and write and publish original papers, often in close collaboration with other lab members and external collaborators. We emphasize research training and career development for all lab members.
Ph.D. in genetics, cancer biology, molecular/cellular biology or related field
Basic laboratory methods of molecular cell biology, imaging, and/or genomics
Strong publication record
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Candidates with expertise in ONE or MORE of the following areas will be given priority.
Expertise in computational/bioinformatics approaches to biological problems
Molecular imaging methods (in situ sequencing, smFISH)
Computational image analysis / computer vision approaches
Next-generation sequencing methods (RNAseq, single cell RNAseq, ATAC-seq)
Applicants should submit a cover letter (describing motivations, previous training experiences and future training goals) , CV, and contact information of 3 references (names, e-mail addresses and phone numbers). Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.
