A computational biology postdoc position focusing on gene editing and AI/ML approaches is open (within Wei Li laboratory) at Children’s National Hospital and George Washington School of Medicine and Health Sciences at Washington, DC. We are focusing on three exciting areas: gene editing, single-cell genomics and AI/ML, with a focus on understanding how coding and non-coding elements function in human diseases. In the past we have track record in 1) using computational approaches, including ML/AI approaches, to model various gene editing technologies (e.g., Cas9, Cas13, base editor); 2) combining with single-cell genomics technologies to identify gene functions; and (3) collaborating with scientists to tackle various biological and biomedical problems including cancer, infectious disease, and development. More information can be found on our website: https://weililab.org
Candidates will join the outstanding research community at Children’s National Hospital, and George Washington University, and have the opportunity to interact with scientists at nearby institutions including National Institute of Health (NIH), John Hopkins University, University of Maryland, etc.
