The Children’s National Research Institute (CNRI) in Washington, DC seeks a Microscopist to support growth of its Cell and Tissue Microscopy Core as it expands into the new CNRI Campus. The candidate will participate in the following activities:
Train users in operation of variety of high-end optical microscopes, help with image acquisition, analysis, and evaluation of microscopy data.
Work with core users, IT, research administration, and vendors to ensure optimal use of the microscopes and support user’s research projects.
Collaborate with researchers and vendors to test or develop new imaging modalities.
Manage online platform for scheduling, usage tracking, supply inventory, and billing.
Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s degree in the field of biomedicine or instrumentation.
Minimum Work Experience
Have experience in implementing microscopy approaches in a lab or a core setting.
Be familiar with image analysis tools; basic programming and coding skills is desirable.
Possess excellent communication, team working and organizational abilities.
