Research Technician I Part-time
Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) invites applications for the position Research Technician I in the group led by Prof. John E. Moses. You will be a crucial member of the new “Chemistry For Biology” research program established as part of the renowned CSHL Cancer Center.
The Moses laboratory develops synthetic and click chemistry methods for application in drug discovery and chemical biology, focusing mainly on cancer and infectious disease. We are looking for a highly motivated, creative, and interactive person to join the growing group to help with this effort.
You will work in a state-of-the-art laboratory in the recently refurbished Demerec building, forming part of a growing team of multidisciplinary scientists and clinicians. You will have the ability to grow with the team and to make an important contribution to the research and environment.
The ideal candidate must have proven experience in synthetic organic chemistry or biology, preferably with knowledge of drug discovery and biological assays.
Position Requirements
EDUCATION: Successful applicants should possess a Bachelors or Master’s degree in a scientific discipline.
EXPERIENCE: Two years of research experience is preferred. Prior experience in synthetic organic chemistry or biology, preferably with knowledge of drug discovery and biological assays. Familiarity with analytical techniques.
SKILLS: The successful candidate should possess excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills, maintaining data spreadsheets, will be willing to take initiative, and will be able to work effectively and productively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a strong sense of integrity.
