The Denman Lab at the University of Colorado School of Medicine is seeking to hire one or more paid post-doctoral researchers and/or engineers interested in using cutting edge neurophysiology techniques to study the neural coding of information within and across multiple brain areas. Funded projects include both high-density electrophysiology and neuromodulation with intracoortical electrical stimulation. A PhD in Neuroscience or a related field is required. Required skills include: > 3 years experience with stereotactic surgeries on rodents, > 3 years experience with in vivo recording and modulation techniques on rodents, scientific or other programming experience (e.g., Python, MATLAB), demonstration of professional scholarship (e.g., authorship credit on published papers). Preferred skills include experience with tissue clearing and whole organ imaging and experience with electronics fabrication.
Positions are available that focus on (1) electrophysiology and behavior and (2) in vivo and ex vivo imaging, particularly whole cleared brain imaging; the ideal candidate will synthesize these roles or work in a team to do so.
The Denman Lab is located on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora Colorado and the Denver Metropolitan area and offers proximity the Front Range and easy access to the Rockies. The Denman lab is committed to growing diversity in science and creating an inclusive and supportive working environment.
