Under supervision of the principal investigator, the Research Technician will conduct a variety of experiments following established procedures/protocols, which will include culturing bacteria and mammalian cells, performing molecular cloning and PCR, extracting DNA and preparing samples for high throughput DNA sequencing, carrying out experiments with small rodent animals, and other well established laboratory techniques. In these capacities, the Technician will also record test results and analyze data using basic statistics. In addition, the Technician may monitor the functioning of laboratory equipment, organize and maintain logbooks and supplies.
