A Postdoctoral Position in Cancer Biology at the University of Pennsylvania, Department of Cancer Biology, is available for a highly motivated candidate with a background in molecular/cellular and mouse biology. Specifically, the project linked to this position will investigate the role of specific E3 ligase(s) on B-cell development and B-cell cancer such as diffuse-large B-cell lymphoma. Furthermore, this project will apply established methods in the lab to screen small molecules hijacking E3 ligases for therapeutic purposes. The successful applicant will be responsible for performing experiments in the laboratory, including basic molecular biology techniques, basic tissue culture, mouse handling, flow cytometry and HTS screens. The successful applicant will carry out data analysis resulting from experiments and help with manuscript preparation/writing. Salary will match NIH standard.
Job Requirements:
First-author publication(s) in internationally recognized journals in the fields of biochemistry and/or molecular biology. Experience in basic approaches of p molecular and mouse biology. Motivation and ability to keep abreast of the current literature as well as his/her own experiments. Willingness to interact with other members of the laboratory in a way that raises the scientific excellence of the whole group. Excellent scientific writing and oral presentation skills.
