A 2 years post-doct position, funded by the ANR (French National Research Agency), is available in Dr Marc Graille’s team in the Laboratory of Structural Biology of the Cell at Ecole Polytechnique (CNRS, Institut Polytechnique de Paris, Palaiseau, France). For more information, visit our website: http://bioc.polytechnique.fr/spip.php?rubrique117&lang=en.
You will contribute to the characterization of the molecular and cellular functions of human RNA modification enzymes acting on RNAs involved in mRNA maturation and translation. As mutations in some of these enzymes are responsible for intellectual disorders, the recruited post-doc will also investigate their role in animal brain development in close collaboration with a team located in Paris.
Multiple experimental approaches are implemented in the lab : biochemistry (protein or RNA expression and purification, enzymology, pull-down, …), cell biology (CRISPR-Cas9 gene deletion, co-immunoprecipitation, purification of RNAs from human cell lines, …) and structural biology (X-ray crystallography). Access to mass spectrometry facility for nucleosides analyses is also available.
The successful candidate should hold a PhD in RNA biology or epitranscriptomics. Expertises in RNA purification, human cell biology and ribosome profiling are required. Experience in RNA-seq and/or skills in bioinformatics analysis of next-generation sequencing data will be very much appreciated.
The Laboratory of Structural Biology of the Cell is located on the multidisciplinary “Ecole Polytechnique” campus, one of the most selective and prestigious French “Grande Ecole”, which attracts top undergraduate and graduate students worldwide. Ecole Polytechnique is located 25 km south from Paris and as regular (every 10 minutes) train connections to Paris city centre (40 minutes). The campus offers all the equipments to perform various activities (music, theatre, …) or sports. More info on the campus can be found at : http://www.polytechnique.edu/en .
Net annual salary: around 27,500€ minimum.
Starting : early 2023, depending on availability of selected candidate. Duration: 24 months.
Applications (including a detailed CV, summary of your current project and relevant skills and a contact information of two/three references) should be submitted at the link in the Apply button.
Information requests should be sent to Marc Graille (firstname.lastname@example.org).
