Requirements:
A minimum of a Doctoral degree (PhD, MD, MD/PhD or equivalent) is required. Preference to applicants who are finishing graduate school or have less than 1 years of postdoctoral experience. The candidate should possess strong interpersonal communication and analytical skills. The candidate should have written and oral fluency in English. Further, the ideal candidate will be motivated, detailed, goal-oriented and possess excellent organizational skills.
Preference given to those with prior experiences either in:
-functional and structural cancer genomics
-cancer biology and biochemistry
-and/or computational and systems biology.
Description:
The Hong Lab (www.thehonglab.org) at Emory University and the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center is seeking several passionate scientists to tackle translational cancer research projects. The focus will be on:
-identifying novel therapeutics in high-risk childhood cancers such as relapsed Wilms Tumor and the SWI/SNF altered cancers such as Rhabdoid Tumor, ATRT, Renal Medullary Carcinoma and Epitheloid Sarcomas
-understanding mechanisms and expanding our understanding of SMARCB1 biology
We will use functional genomics, high throughput screening, biochemistry and computational biology to address these questions.
This work will take place at the Health Research Sciences Building as part of the research program at Emory and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (https://www.pedsresearch.org/) and in collaboration with the Winship Cancer Institute and Georgia Tech.
