Postdoctoral position in RNA biology
The Ghalei lab at the Emory University School of Medicine has an opening for an NIH-funded postdoctoral position. Our lab studies the molecular mechanisms that control the assembly of RNA-protein complexes for post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression. We employ a unique combination of molecular, biochemical, structural and genetic approaches to understand the biogenesis of small nucleolar RNA-protein complexes and reveal their impact on the cellular translation program. The lab is located in the Department of Biochemistry at the Rollins Research Center and has wide access to the scientific resources and collaborative community at the Emory University and Winship Cancer Center. More information about the Ghalei laboratory can be found here: http://www.biochem.emory.edu/ghalei/
Candidates with research experience in RNA biology, epitranscriptomics, biochemistry, or structural biology are strongly encouraged to apply. Previous experience in RNA high-throughput sequencing-based approaches and data analysis is desired but not required. The applicant should have a Ph.D. degree in a relevant field and a track record of peer-reviewed publications. The successful applicant will start on the ground of exciting new preliminary data and work closely with members of a highly collaborative team in an interdisciplinary laboratory.
The position is available immediately. Qualified interested candidates should send a cover letter describing research interests and career goals, and a CV including a list of publications and contact information for three references to Dr. Homa Ghalei (email@example.com).
