Position Overview
We are seeking a world-class Scientist to join our research team. This role is critical in advancing our pioneering research and development efforts in phage therapeutics. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in microbiology and molecular genetics, with a specialized focus on phage biology and manipulation. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to transformative research in a dynamic startup environment and play a pivotal role in advancing our phage therapeutic pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

• Microbiology: Lead high-impact research projects focused on phage discovery, characterization, and engineering. Extensive experience with phage therapy and phage biology is highly preferred.
• Molecular Genetics: Conduct advanced molecular cloning, bacterial strain transformation, and genetic manipulation of phages to enhance their therapeutic potential. Proficiency with CRISPR-Cas systems is highly preferred.
• Experimental Design and Execution: Design and execute large-scale plate reader experiments to profile interactions between clinical isolates and phages.
• Data Analysis: Analyze and interpret complex experimental data, and present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
• Project Management: Lead cutting-edge research projects, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and ensure timely completion of project milestones.
• Mentorship: Mentor junior scientists and research associates, fostering a collaborative and productive research environment.
• Communication: Write and review high-quality scientific reports, publications, and grant applications. Effectively communicate research findings to both scientific and non-scientific audiences. Contribute to grant writing, patent applications, and scientific publications.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the operations team to align research activities with overall company goals and objectives.

Ideal Skill Set

• Educational Background: Ph.D. in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related field.
• Microbiology Expertise: Exceptional background in phage biology and phage-host interactions.
• Molecular Genetics: Expertise in phage engineering and synthetic biology approaches. Familiarity with advanced bioinformatics tools for genomic analysis.
• Project Management: Proven ability to manage complex research projects and meet deadlines.
• Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
• Critical Thinking: Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and innovatively.
• Collaborative Mindset: Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail in experimental work and data analysis.
• Additional Experience: Experience with high-throughput screening techniques and familiarity with microfluidics or single-cell analysis methods.
