Multiple postdoctoral positions in the broad areas of cellular metabolism, epigenetics, and senescence of ovarian cancer are available in the laboratory of Dr. Katherine Aird at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and UPMC Hillman Cancer Center. Projects will focus on how metabolites affect the epigenome, senescence response, and/or the microenvironment and immune response during ovarian tumorigenesis, progression, and response to therapy. This research will integrate cellular and molecular biology of in vitro and in vivo models of ovarian cancer, metabolomics, and high throughput genomics, and will be executed through multi-disciplinary and cross-institutional collaborations. More information can be found at airdlab.com. We strongly support both the scientific & professional development of all trainees. The are opportunities to expand into new areas for those looking to transition to independence.
The Aird Lab is seeking Postdoctoral Associates who have recently earned, or nearing completion of, a PhD degree in cellular and molecular biology or a related field. Necessary research skills include standard molecular and cellular biology techniques. Prior experience in cancer research is not required. Salary is commensurate with experience and based on current NIH guidelines.
The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is ranked #5 in NIH funding, and Pittsburgh has been consistently voted as one of the top livable cities in the US.
To apply for a position, qualified candidates should submit a one-page cover letter stating reasons for their scientific interest in the lab and career goals, a curriculum vitae including technical skills, and the names and contact information of three references.
