Two Research Associate positions are available as part of a multidisciplinary project funded by the Wellcome Trust to investigate the neuro-immune-stromal interactions in response to environmental change and how this drives allergic airway inflammation and remodelling.
Concomitant with human patient studies, the successful candidates will also make use of our extensively characterised neonatal and adult allergic airway mouse models to determine immune-neuro interactions and assess their impact on disease progression and lung function (https://lloydlab.co.uk).
The successful candidates will have a PhD in a related discipline (e.g. Immunology) and be technically proficient at a high level to ensure up-to-date support for laboratory research.
These posts will provide the opportunity to develop and drive an independent research project as well as writing up work for presentation and publication. Therefore, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, have excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills are essential.
