Inscripta is developing the world’s first scalable platform for benchtop Digital Genome Engineering. The company’s advanced CRISPR-based platform, consisting of an instrument, reagents, and software, will offer a fully automated workflow that enables multiplexed, trackable editing of cells at an unprecedented scale. Due to rapid growth Inscripta has an opening for a Sr. Scientist, Applications Research, within the Microbial Applications Group located in Boulder, CO.
As a Sr. Scientist, in the Applications Research Team at Inscripta, you will be part of a diverse team focused on innovating forward-looking customer solutions that expand applications at the heart of Inscripta’s Digital Genome Engineering platform. This team will work closely with customers, Commercial and Product Development teams to provide solutions to customers with agility and creativity as well as enable foundational understanding of microbial genome engineering.
In this position, you will have the opportunity to build foundational editing technologies and work with a world class team of Engineers, Biologists, and Computer Scientists.
Innovation of new genome engineering workflows on the digital genome platform
Work closely with diverse customers to understand their scientific goals and workflows
Implement innovative approaches and workflows enabling customers to expand into new Onyx applications
Build strong partnership with Product Development, represent voice of customers, define relevant customer workflows and contribute to marketing requirement documents.
Develop, test, and optimize assays and product workflows
Collaborate closely with the team members and other cross-functional groups
Analyze and present experimental data
Support laboratory operations at the Boulder facility
Ph.D in cell biology, biological engineering, or related fields AND
Deep experience in high-throughput genome engineering, extensive engineering of microbial hosts, with demonstrated technical expertise in molecular biology and microbiology fields, specifically in synthetic biology, strain engineering, and CRISPR technologies.
Experience in handling microbial cells (E. coli, S. cerevisiae etc)
Exceptional data analysis and quantitative skills
Track record of creativity and problem solving
Experience with genomics and NGS data sets.
