The newly established Gilot lab hosted by the Cancer Center INSERM U1242 – University of Rennes 1 (Rennes, France) is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to study the role of lncRNAs in therapy-resistance. We use a wide-range of state-of-the-art methods including CRISPR screens (gain- and loss-of functions), Prime-Editing, ASOs and long-read RNA sequencing. (https://doi.org/10.1101/2020.07.08.193102). The Cancer Center aims first at understanding molecular mechanisms underlying carcinogenesis and second, at generating tailored chemicals to disturb specific signaling pathways involved in oncogenesis by bringing together chemists, biologists and clinicians within the “Centre de Lutte Contre le Cancer” Eugène Marquis. One strength of the cancer center relies on its international staff.
As Postdoc in our lab, your position is primarily research-based but may also involve teaching assignments. You will contribute to the development of the Cancer Center through research of high international quality. In your daily work, you will work closely with colleagues on your project, where you will receive supervision and guidance. For the CRISPR screening, she/he will work with two other team members (PhD student & engineer). For the RNA-seq, she/he will collaborate with Thomas Derrien (IGDR, CNRS 6290) and an engineer. Regular mentoring and career development programs will ensure transition to independent research careers in academia or industry. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D in the biological sciences. Candidates would be “RNA-friendly”. Experience in CRISPR and cloning is also preferred. As a person, you are self-motivated, take ownership and possess good communication and interpersonal skills. Candidates must have at least one publication in a peer-reviewed journal (or BioRxiv).
Rennes lives to the rhythm of the young students. They represent 30% of the total population of the city, creating a special atmosphere in the Breton capital; that creativity footprint, movement and a festive spirit. https://www.tourisme-rennes.com/en/discover-rennes/
Interested candidates should submit a cover letter and CV to firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications will be reviewed starting immediately until the position is filled.
Eligibility: Position open for French, for people form European Community and people outside Europe.
Contract: the post-doctoral fellow will be employed by INSERM for an initial contract of 24 months. Salary: 2200 to 2500 € per month, depending on previous experience. Contract start: ASAP (2021).
