Postdoctoral Research Associate positions (Mayo Clinic Florida)
The Laboratory of Molecular NeuroTherapeutics (PI: Tsuneya Ikezu) is seeking applications from qualified candidates with expertise in neuroscience, extracellular vehicles and molecular biology for the translational studies of neurologic disorders. This position will work in a highly collaborative environment, focusing on identification of candidate molecules from proteomic profiling, machine learning and experimental validation using novel platform.
The research will be based at Department of Neuroscience, Mayo Clinic Florida, and will involve interactions with collaborators in other institutes. The main focus of the Laboratory of Molecular NeuroTherapeutics is the identification and therapeutic intervention of target molecules and cell types for the treatment or prevention of neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer’s disease and other tauopathies.
The ideal candidates will be expected to work independently in animal models of neurodegenerative disorders, molecular engineering and extracellular vesicles. They will keep records and data of all scientific experiments according to established procedures. They also will draft technical reports, manuscripts for scientific journals, and present work internally and externally as needed. They are also expected to occasionally supervise students, act as a source of information and advice to other members of the group on scientific protocols and experimental techniques.
Each applicant must possess an advanced degree (Ph.D.) in a relevant field with less than 5 years of postdoc experiences. Candidates with experience in neuroscience, biochemistry, protein chemistry, molecular engineering and proteomics are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidates should be team players with high scientific standards and communication skills, and have the ability to work in an interactive, fast-paced environment.
