A senior research scientist position is available at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for candidates with a wide experience in molecular and cellular biology applied to cancer research.
The laboratory headed by Luc Morris, located in the Zuckerman Research Center, focuses on translational cancer genomics research with applications in cancer immunotherapy and biomarkers.
The ideal candidate should be highly proficient in a variety of molecular and cellular biology techniques (e.g., molecular cloning, gene editing, cell culture, flow cytometry), and have strong fundamental knowledge of cancer genetics and/or cancer immunology. Candidates with experience with next generation sequencing (WGS, WES, RNAseq) and/or mouse cancer models (transgenic or xenograft models) are desired.
The senior research scientist will manage and develop a variety of translational projects related to our projects that focus on head and neck cancer, pan-cancer genomics and predictive biomarkers.
· PhD or MD/PhD
· Strong publication record, including first author peer-reviewed publications
· Prior cancer biology research experience
· Excellent communication and writing skills
We are a collaborative lab comprised of a diverse set of scientists from around the world and all stages of training. We are looking for colleagues who are enthusiastic about science, with an ability to think creatively and independently. It is important that the candidate has good organizational skills, some management experience, and be able to work within a collaborative team environment.
Applicants should send a synopsis of previous research experience (1 page), a personal statement of scientific interests and goals (up to 1 page), a detailed CV, and contact information of three references.
What we study
We are cancer genomics researchers who study multi-dimensional data in tumors from cancer patients and transgenic mouse models, and then investigate genetic mechanisms of cancer development and immune surveillance/evasion in mice, cancer cells, and immunological assays. Our team is a hybrid laboratory with experts in both “wet lab” and “dry lab” techniques who work together with a common goal.
Our lab website showcases some recent data, publications and members of the lab. Please get in touch with the Apply button or email morrisl at mskcc.org
