Postdoctoral fellow position in circadian rhythms and metabolism Full-time
The Peek lab is seeking a postdoctoral fellow interested in studying metabolism, epigenetics and circadian rhythms. We are located in downtown Chicago in the brand new SQBRC building on Northwestern’s medical campus.
About us:
Our lab is focused on investigating circadian control of metabolic transcriptional networks and how circadian disruption contributes to metabolic diseases such as diabetes, obesity and cancer. In particular, we are interested in how circadian clocks regulate skeletal muscle metabolism and cell fate following exercise and ischemic injury. Our recent studies have uncovered a novel link between clocks, oxygen-sensing pathways, and muscle stem cells (Peek et al, Cell Metabolism, 2017; Zhu et al, Genes and Development, 2022).
Position Description:
We are looking for highly self-motivated candidates from any area of biology with an interest in metabolism and tissue regeneration. Skills in basic biochemistry and molecular biology techniques are required, and experience in mouse metabolic phenotyping, metabolomic profiling, and/or bioinformatics is preferred.
