Kim lab at Penn State University College of Medicine is looking for a highly motivated PhD level scientist in neuroscience. We utilize interdisciplinary approaches to understand structural and functional organization of the nervous system using mice as an animal model. Unique strength of our approach includes high-resolution whole mouse brain mapping, neuroinformatics, digital atlasing, and systems neuroscience. Biological topics of interest include neurodevelopment, neuroanatomy, neural circuit mechanism of social behavior, brain cell types, and neurodegeneration. Candidates with relevant research experience and/or unique experimental/computational skills are encouraged to apply. More details of the lab including publications can be found in the lab web site (http://kimlab.io/).
We aim to build a strong and integrated research team with complimentary expertise. Furthermore, we have several on-going collaborations with labs across the world, providing ample opportunities to work with leading experts in different field of neuroscience.
Penn State College of Medicine is located in Hershey, PA that is a relatively small town with affordable living expense with easy access to neighboring major cities (e.g., Philadelphia). It is also an ideal location in the pandemic era.
