Postdoctoral position is open for highly motivated candidates in the laboratory of Dr. Subhamoy Dasgupta at the Department of Cell Stress Biology, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, NY- a National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated comprehensive cancer center. The Dasgupta lab focuses on discovering novel tumor metabolic adaptations, and investigates associated biological mechanisms such as transcriptional regulation, nuclear receptor and steroid hormone action, nutrient signaling, mitochondrial biology, epigenetics, and tumor immunology in the progression of cancer metastasis (Check Lab Papers). State of art facilities such as proteomics, genomics, and metabolomics along with molecular biology techniques are widely used in the laboratory. Multiple models systems, including Genetically Engineered Mouse Models (GEMMs), patient-derived xenograft (PDX), and syngeneic tumor models are used to address challenging mechanisms in breast and prostate cancer progression and metastasis. Currently the laboratory is stably funded by multiple grants from NIH/NCI, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and other funding sources.
The search is primarily targeted towards scientists who are completing their PhD or have recently graduated with first author publications demonstrating their skills in any related areas of gene transcription, epigenetics, biochemistry, cancer biology, and immunology. Experience of working with mouse models of cancer will be preferred. The candidate should possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and should be able to work in a diverse, highly collaborative and a team-focused laboratory environment.
Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of the world’s oldest cancer center established in 1898, is known for numerous seminal basic science and translational discoveries in oncology. Roswell Park has state-of-the-art research infrastructure enabling all aspects of modern biomedical research – from discovery work towards clinical validation – and provides a highly stimulating academic and clinical environment.
To apply, please send a cover letter highlighting your past research experience, career goals and research interests, and CV to Dr. Subhamoy Dasgupta.
