The Dasgupta Lab at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, Buffalo, NY is looking for a Postdoctoral fellow/scientist in the area of cancer epigenetics and metabolism. The Dasgupta laboratory focusses on defining the underlying mechanisms that promote tumor progression and metastasis.
We take a systems biology approach investigating metabolic pathways, genetic and epigenetic regulation, and immune evasion mechanisms that selectively sustain the growth and progression of metastatic tumors. State of art facilities such as proteomics, genomics, and metabolomics along with molecular biology techniques are widely used in multiple model systems of Genetically Engineered Mouse Models (GEMMs), Patient-Derived Xenograft (PDX), and syngeneic tumor models.
Recent publications from the lab: Sawant Dessai A, et al, Cancer Research, 2021 81(1):50-63; Dasgupta S, et al, Nature, 556, 249–254, 2018; Dasgupta S, et al, Journal of Clinical Investigation, 125(3):1174-88, 2015. Currently the laboratory is funded by grants from NIH, NCI, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and other funding sources.
The search is primarily targeted towards scientists who have completed their PhD with first author publications demonstrating their skills in any related areas of chromatin biology/transcriptional regulation/nuclear receptor biology including next generation sequencing approaches (ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, ATAC-seq), proteomics, metabolomics, and/or computational methods. Experience of working with mouse models of cancer will be an added advantage. The candidate should possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of the world’s oldest cancer center established in 1898, is known for numerous seminal basic science and translational discoveries in oncology. Roswell Park has state-of-the-art research infrastructure enabling all aspects of modern biomedical research – from discovery work towards clinical validation – and provides a highly stimulating academic and clinical environment.
