A research group at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Department of Cancer Prevention and Control (Buffalo, NY) is looking for a postdoctoral research fellow, who is interested in academic research of cancer epidemiology, genomics, and cancer health disparities. The group is dedicated to cutting-edge population-based research to understand the biological underpinnings of cancer racial/ethnic disparities, with multiple active federal and private foundation funded research projects focusing on genomic, molecular, and cellular mechanisms underlying cancer health disparities in several large and unique racial/ethnic minority populations, as well as on cancer outcome and survivorship. The group has been generating a large amount of genomic and molecular datasets from these large patient populations that provides numerous training and research opportunities for manuscript writing, as well as the development of independent research proposals.
A qualified candidate is expected to have a doctoral degree in epidemiology, genetics, biostatistics, bioinformatics, and/or medicine, who is experienced and proficient in statistical analysis of a versatile of epidemiological data types, including high-through genomic data, and equally important, proficient in scientific writing. The fellow is expected to work closely with the PI and the group to coordinate research projects and lead data analysis and manuscript writing. The candidate is also expected to develop independent research projects and grant applications under the mentorship of the PI that can lead to an academic research career. A competitive salary with healthcare benefits will be provided.
