SUMMARY: A position is available in the areas of gastrointestinal cancer research and cellular/molecular biology, tumor microenvironment/immunology, mouse models of cancer and translational cancer research at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. The candidate will research competitive manuscripts and grants in gastrointestinal cancers, and perform research activities and experiments independently. Must be able to take up a research aim being investigated and contribute at every step from conception until completion and publication. The position provides opportunities to study within multidisciplinary groups and be involved in clinical/translational research collaborations. The individual is expected to perform research experiments, and analysis of a specialized nature with the goal of establishing an innovative, collaborative research program under direct supervision of the Principal Investigator. Candidates will work in an inter-disciplinary, productive and highly collaborative environment and interact with basic scientists, computational biologists, translational researchers and clinicians as part of a NCI designated comprehensive cancer center.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Master’s Degree in Cancer Biology or Immunology or Biochemistry/Molecular Biology is required. PhD degree is preferred. Prior cancer research experience is necessary. Experience with mouse models of cancer is preferred. Experience in basic bioinformatics is preferred. Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently are necessary. References from prior direct supervisors are necessary.
