Join us as a Senior Research Fellow at the UCL Institute of Health Informatics (IHI), working at the forefront of data-driven research to tackle antimicrobial resistance (AMR) — one of the most urgent global health challenges of our time.
Established in 2014 within UCL's Faculty of Population Health Sciences, IHI conducts high-quality, data-intensive research to improve health outcomes locally, nationally and globally, at the intersection of health data science and epidemiology. Researchers at the institute work alongside a wide range of academic, clinical and industrial collaborators, tackling some of the hardest problems in modern healthcare.
IHI delivers one of the UK's largest and most highly regarded teaching programmes in health informatics and health data science, and hosts one of the four UKRI Centres for Doctoral Training in AI in Healthcare, supporting the next generation of leaders in the field. The Faculty of Population Health Sciences is UCL's largest research-based faculty, comprising eight institutes dedicated to advancing health through innovative research and education.

We are looking for a Senior Research Fellow to join the RADIX team, funded by the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre at UCLH. AMR causes 1.3 million deaths annually, with projections of 10 million by 2050. You will lead the extraction, linkage and analysis of complex, multi-source electronic health record (EHR) data, applying statistical and machine learning methods to support safer antibiotic prescribing — with a focus on cancer patients and care home residents.
Working with clinicians, software engineers and informatics specialists at UCL and UCLH, you will contribute across the full research lifecycle, from data governance through to clinical decision support tools, publications and translational impact.
This is a full-time or part-time post (80–100% FTE), funded until 31 March 2027, with the possibility of extension.
