Multiple positions are available in the Gligorijevic lab, including postdoc, research & imaging specialist and MS/PhD students.Earliest starting date is February 1st, 2021 and all positions are funded by recent NIH/NCI and American Cancer Society grants.
Gligorijevic laboratory is situated in Bioengineering Department of Temple University, Philadelphia. We work on the role of intrinsic cancer cell factors (eg. cell cycle) and extrinsic interactions (extracellular matrix, fat, nerves) on invadopodia assembly and cancer cell invasion. We rely heavily on 4D microscopy of 3D culture models and fluorescent mouse models, followed by molecular/cell biology to pursue mechanistic questions. Collaborations with experts on image analysis and computational modeling allow us to gain quantitative understanding of motility phenotypes, while working with oncologists and pathologists at Fox Chase Cancer center allows our work towards developing predictive diagnostics for metastasis.
Requirements: PhD (for postdoc position) or BS/MS (for specialist) in life sciences with a strong background in one or more of the following: fluorescent 4D microscopies- confocal, lightsheet, multiphoton, image processing, fluorescent proteins, optogenetics, mouse models of cancer, molecular & cell biology, quantitative biology.
Self-motivation, scientific integrity, ability to work as part of a team, excellent time management, organization and
record-keeping skills are a must.
Interested applicants should send their cover letter including research interests (1 page), CV and 2-3 reference letters (from previous advisors) to bojana@temple.edu. Salaries are based on F31/F32 NIH-guidelines.
