Dr. Wolpaw’s laboratory seeks to develop an understanding of how tumor heterogeneity and epigenetics impact inflammatory signaling and immunotherapy responses in pediatric solid tumors with a goal of developing more efficacious, less toxic therapies to treat these devastating diseases. The laboratory is located in the heart of the CHOP/UPENN campus in West Philadelphia, which provides a vibrant and collaborative community of researchers and clinicians with extensive educational opportunities including lecture series and networking events.
Dr. Wolpaw’s laboratory is seeking a Research Technician IV for his lab. The successful applicant will have a BA or BS in biology, chemistry, or a related field and at least 2-3 years of prior experience working full-time in a related field, ideally with technical expertise in molecular biology, cell culture, flow cytometry, and/or working with mice. The applicant will have a specific project to work on and will be expected to develop ownership and expertise in this area. Potential projects include using single-cell RNA sequencing to characterize how neuroblastoma lineage heterogeneity impacts immunotherapy response in immunocompetent mouse models, conducting CRISPR-Cas9 screens to uncover the transcriptional regulation of innate immune sensing pathways in neuroblastoma, and characterizing how activation of inflammatory signaling in neuroblastoma cells impact immune surveillance and immunotherapy responses. This work builds on our recently published study in PNAS (https://www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.2102358119) and is funded by grants from the Department of Defense and the NIH.
