A postdoctoral position is available immediately with a flexible starting date. We are looking for a highly motivated person interested in deciphering intricate molecular and cellular mechanisms employed by bacterial effector proteins (toxins) to compromise the host cell integrity by manipulating the actin cytoskeleton.
Our methods include a wide variety of biochemical approaches, x-ray crystallography, cryo-EM, single-molecule reconstituted and live cell TIRFM imaging, MD simulations, RNAseq and qPCR gene expression analysis, etc. Some of the focus areas include changes in inflammation and cell death/cell survival pathways, mechanosensing mechanisms, and phase transition processes.
Successful candidates will have a published record of accomplishments and good written and oral communication skills. Experience in cytoskeleton research at the cellular or molecular levels is a plus.
