The Carnevale and Gordan labs at UCSF are looking for a talented and engaged scientist to lead a collaborative project developing combinatorial CRISPR methods to study signaling dependencies in T cells and cancer.
The Gordan lab is located in the dynamic environment of the Quantitative Biosciences Institute at UCSF Mission Bay, and uses chemical genetics to enable cancer target discovery with quantitative proteomics and genetic screening, with a focus on tumor suppressive mechanisms. Julia Carnevale is a new group leader in the Gladstone-UCSF Institute of Genomic Immunology, focused on using innovative functional genomic methods to dissect and modify regulatory mechanisms in T cells engineered for cancer therapy. Both PIs are early career investigators
Applicants from a variety of backgrounds would be welcome, but significant wet lab experience is essential. A background with functional genomics, kinase signaling mechanisms or immune cell biology will be valuable. Successful candidates must have a PhD and/or MD in a related discipline and be independent, motivated and value working in teams, with demonstrated success in project management and leadership. Please respond by e-mail to Julia Carnevale (email@example.com) and John Gordan (firstname.lastname@example.org) with a statement of interest and career objectives, CV, and names with contact information for three references.
