We are recruiting a highly motivated and creative scientist to join the Elahi lab as a Postdoctoral Research Scholar to study the role and contributions from endotheliopathies to neurodegeneration in neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease and frontotemporal dementias. We seek highly motivated candidates with a record of productivity, and prior experience with molecular biology techniques, including work with induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC), extracellular vesicles, and biofluid proteomics. Additional knowledge of vascular disease biology and/or neuroscience (or related disciplines), and big data analytic skills would be considered as assets. Responsibilities include designing and conducting experiments, analyzing data, preparing and presenting research findings at meetings, helping write scientific manuscripts, and applying for fellowships and other research funding. The successful candidate will have an MD, PhD, or MD/PhD (or equivalent) degree, solid publication record, exemplary written/verbal English communication skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to take initiatives and work independently.
The department also has a postdoctoral fellow training program focused on mentorship, networking, and recognition.
Duration: Minimum of 2 years with advancement to the second year contingent upon satisfactory progress during the first year. The appointment may be extended beyond 2 years depending on funding and satisfactory performance.
Please send CV, a statement of career goals (limited to 1 page), and contact information for three references to lab Principal Investigator Dr. Fanny Elahi (firstname.lastname@example.org) and Research Coordinator Sasha Saias (email@example.com).
