Assistant Professor of Pharmacology at Universidad del Norte (Colombia) Full-time
The Division of Health Sciences at Universidad del Norte (Colombia, South America) is accepting applications for a tenure-track position as assistant professor of Pharmacology. We are looking for highly motivated people willing to contribute to the advancement of research in our country. Applicants must have an MD, MD-PhD, or PhD degree.
We seek individuals who enjoy conducting research on the pathophysiology and translational science of infectious or non-communicable diseases. In non-communicable diseases, the research field covers obesity, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, autoimmune disorders, immunodeficiency, inflammatory conditions, cardiovascular and pulmonary disorders.
Ideally, the applicant has a holistic view that allows them to work as part of a team that addresses basic, translational, clinical, and public health aspects of the disorder. We valued the ability of the applicant to build research collaborations and excel at networking.
Universidad del Norte is a nationally accredited higher education institution. The Division of Health Sciences provides a burgeoning academic environment in which it fosters a collaborative environment.
Since one of the applicant’s activities is lecturing and conducting seminars, the applicant is expected to have outstanding communication skills, enjoy teaching, and be able to capture the attention of the audience, both students and peers. Bilingual capabilities are highly desirable. However, the applicant must be fluent in Spanish. The applicant will serve students from the medical, nursing and dentistry program and postgraduate students.
