Provenzani Laboratory
The genomic screening laboratory is dedicated to the identification of novel bioactive small molecules via the utilization of high throughput technologies. Current projects are about targeting RNA binding proteins in cancer area and RAN translation in the neurodegenerative area. Dr Alessandro Provenzani is Professor at the University of Trento and is currently funded by cancer research foundations as AIRC and AIL, ALS foundation ARISLA and EU within the frame of H2020 projects.
The University of Trento and the CIBIO Department
The University of Trento is top ranked among medium sized Italian Universities (1st on 2021/2022 Censis ranking, 1st for research output for the ANVUR/VQR rankings both in 2016 and in 2022). The CIBIO Department (https://www.cibio.unitn.it/) was founded in 2008. It includes 44 research groups. CIBIO’s infrastructure provides cutting-edge core facilities for internal and external academic research institutions. They include state-of-the-art next generation sequencing, flow cytometry, advanced imaging, high throughput screening, proteomics, animal modelling, cell technology and bioinformatics services.
