The Department of Preclinical Imaging and Radiopharmacy (Director: Prof. Dr. Bernd Pichler) at the University Hospital of Tübingen is looking for a committed
MTA / BTA (f/m/d)
full time. The position is financed by third-party funds and is initially limited until 30.06.2023. However, the possibility of an extension is given and is being sought.
Your diverse range of tasks will include:
-The processing of biological samples (e.g. tissue and serum) from preclinical and clinical studies (e.g. of Parkinson’s patients) for nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (600 MHz NMR) and accompanying evaluation of the generated spectra (metabolomics).
-Working with modern imaging modalities (PET, high-field MR, SPECT/CT, optical imaging), evaluating studies with special computer programmes and collaborating and teaching at workshops.
-You will also support our department in the preparation of standardisation SOPs, in the implementation of contract research, and in the coordination of inter-group cooperation projects.
-In addition to the activities in the field of NMR spectroscopy and imaging, you will also be employed in cell biology and molecular biology laboratories according to your skills and experience.
A detailed induction into all your areas of work will make your start in our group easier and is a matter of course for us. As a special extra, we can offer you free training courses in the field of NMR spectroscopy at Bruker BioSpin GmbH (market leader in NMR spectroscopy) for which you will receive accredited additional certificates.
A completed MTA/BTA training, cooperation and communication skills, teamwork, independent and responsible work, willingness to work carefully with laboratory test animals according to animal welfare rules, willingness to handle human samples as well as short-lived isotopes and flexibility in working hours. Solid knowledge of English is an important requirement for communication in our international team. Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel) are an advantage.
You can expect to work in an international team currently consisting of 80 people from different disciplines such as physics, biology, medicine, biochemistry, computer science and medical technology. Teamwork is a decisive key to success for us.

We offer remuneration according to TV-UK (collective agreement of the university hospitals in Baden-Württemberg) as well as all the usual benefits in the public sector. Severely disabled persons will be given priority if they are equally qualified. Recruitment will take place via the Human Resources Division. Unfortunately, interview costs cannot be covered. Prior to taking up employment, a medical certificate must be obtained in accordance with § 23a i.V.m. § 20 para. 9 of the Infection Protection Act, proof of sufficient vaccination against measles or immunity to measles must be provided (scope of application: birth cohorts as of 01.01.1971).
