A Post-Doctoral Fellow position is available in Alicia Byrd’s group in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, AR. Our group studies the function and mechanism of DNA helicases in the DNA damage response using biochemistry, cell biology, proteomics and genomics. This research involves cell biology, confocal microscopy, single molecule DNA fibers, generation of CRISPR knockout cells, protein biochemistry (ensemble and single molecule enzyme kinetics), genomics and proteomics. The successful candidate can expect to publish first author papers and obtain experience writing scientific papers and grant proposals.
Salary: Salary commensurate with experience
