Postdoctoral Scholar Opportunity

The Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Infectious Diseases in the Faculty of Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary is accepting applications for Postdoctoral Scholar in immunology.
Job Description:
The postdoctoral scholar will be involved in the use of antigen-specific nanomedicines capable of re-programming different immune cell types in vivo to dissect immunoregulatory cell networks. The candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of scientists working at the interphase among protein engineering, nanomedicine, in vivo cell re-programming, developmental immunology and chronic inflammatory disease. He/She will have the opportunity to use a variety of functional, phenotypic (e.g. multi-dimensional flow cytometry, mass cytometry), transcriptomic (e.g. scRNAseq) and epigenetic tools (e.g. ChIPseq, multiome) to dissect pharmacodynamic effects of in vivo cell re-programming.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Immunology or a related field, and will have demonstrated exceptional strength in relevant experimental approaches. Clear interest in innovation and interdisciplinary work should be expressed in the cover letter in relation to the proposed work.
Excellent data management skills are essential, as well as the ability to work autonomously, in addition to:
· Excellent attention to detail
· Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with an interdisciplinary group
· Continuous learning and development and a willingness to accept new challenges and assignments
· Time management skills to effectively manage their own time with a strong ability to prioritize to meet deadlines
