The Floor lab at UCSF studies how human cells use the regulatory information in RNA sequences to change gene expression. We use high-throughput sequencing, microscopy, computational analysis, biochemistry, and molecular/cell biology to learn more about RNA-based regulation of gene expression. The Floor lab is recruiting both computational and experimental postdoctoral fellows on multiple funded projects – or to work on your own idea. The lab is hybrid computational and experimental and lab members are trained in both domains. Competitive candidates will have a PhD and associated training in a discipline that is aligned with or enhances the research in the lab and a demonstrated track record of productivity including at least one first-author paper or preprint. Compensation is 10% above NRSA rates. The candidate will join a dynamic research group with two technicians, five graduate students, and a postdoctoral fellow. The first two postdocs to leave the Floor lab went on to a Scientist position in biotech and a Group Leader position in academia. We are a diverse group both scientifically and in our identities and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. We cultivate creativity, curiosity, and collaboration towards a better understanding of the natural world. To apply please email Stephen with your CV, a PDF of a paper of yours, and general project ideas. If this sounds like something you’re interested in, or if you have any questions, get in touch!
