We are seeking a postdoctoral scholar to join our research group at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Our group uses the genetically tractable nematode C. elegans and unconventional model systems, including cells from extreme hibernator Arctic ground squirrels, to study how genes control life processes in homeostasis, dormancy and responses to extreme physical chemical conditions (e.g. changes in temperature and oxygen levels). We make fundamental discoveries of broad relevance to cytoprotection, organ transplantation, reversible cryo-preservation and therapeutics to treat neurological and ischemic disorders. The postdoctoral scholar is expected to lead projects and will receive broad academic training in multidisciplinary research areas and ample career development opportunities.
Please see our website for more details about our research and contact us if you have any questions about the position. To apply, please email a curriculum vita (CV) and 2-3 names and contact information for three professional references. Applications will be reviewed continuously until the position is filled.
