The Aghi lab in the University of California, San Francisco Brain Tumor Research Center (BTRC) is looking for a postdoctoral fellow to assist us in conducting our studies of a novel immunomodulatory gene therapy strategy. Details about work in our lab can be found at www.aghilab.com
Requirements are: (1) recently earned MD and/or PhD degree(s) in areas of the biological sciences relevant to this research (such as biochemistry, bioinformatics, molecular biology, immunology), with no more than 3 years of prior postdoctoral research experience; (2) a strong background in cell biology, molecular biology, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, stem cell biology, and rodent work,; (3) multiple first author publications written by the applicant and published or accepted for publication in reputable peer reviewed journals; (4) the ability to write competitive scientific grants that will procure funding for the applicant during the postdoctoral fellowship and allow the candidate to transition to independent positions as academic faculty or within industry within approximately 3 years of starting work; (5) the ability to work long and flexible hours in order to accomplish these goals; (6) fluency in English and the interpersonal skills required to teach junior members of the laboratory; and (7) applicants should be US citizens, permanent residents, or most currently hold a valid US work visa. Experience in immune cell profiling techniques, molecular biology cloning, retroviral biology, cancer bioinformatics, and CRISPR library screens is strongly desired.
NIH standards will be used in setting the pay scale.
