We are looking for an experienced POSTDOCTORAL scholar or STAFF SCIENTIST in the area of bioactive microbial chemistry to join the laboratory of Prof. Sandra Loesgen (www.loesgenlab.org) at the University of Florida, Department of Chemistry. The Loesgen lab is part of the Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience, located in St. Augustine Florida, USA.
Extensive experience and research publications in the area of Natural Products Chemistry are required. The postdoctoral fellow/staff scientist will be expected to isolate and identify new small molecules from microorganisms. Expertise in microbiology, NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, chromatographic separations, and in vitro assays (mammalian or microbial cell culture) is desired. Expertise in fungal gene expression analysis and genome mining are a plus.
