Post-doctoral position in pluripotent stem cell biology and neuroscience
The Zeltner lab at the Center for Molecular Medicine at the University of Georgia (https://zeltnerlab.uga.edu) is looking to hire a post doc.
We are looking for a highly motivated, passionate and ambitious PhD graduate interested in applied aspects of stem cell biology, the peripheral nervous system and stress disorders.
The successful individual will be the lead investigator on one of the following projects: 1. Drug development for the treatment of neurodegeneration in the peripheral nervous system. 2. Biomarker discovery of stress-induced pathology in sympathetic neurons. The individual will further assist in training and supervising staff and students.
A strong background in stem cell biology, developmental biology and/or neuroscience as well as experience in mammalian cell culture is required. Molecular biology, genetic engineering, flow cytometry and RNA sequencing skills are highly desirable. Excellent communication skills, exceptional work ethic and the ability to function within a highly interactive and interdisciplinary research community are essential.
