Postdoctoral Research Associate in Behavioral Neuroscience

The Sweeney lab (https://sweenp.wixsite.com/my-site) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on projects studying the neural circuitry regulating feeding and emotion in mice. The studies will involve a variety of approaches and tools including fiber photometry, endomicroscopy with miniature microscopes, optogenetics, chemogenetics, mouse behavioral assays of feeding, motivation, and emotion, mouse molecular genetics, RNA in situ hybridization, and single nucleus RNA sequencing.
Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Physiology, Neurobiology, Biological Sciences, or a related discipline. Candidates close to defending their Ph.D. dissertation will be considered. Experience in one or more of the techniques listed above is highly desired. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both individually and as part of a team are required. Competitive candidates will have at least one first-author publication.

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and in accordance with current NIH funding levels. The position is on a yearly basis, with funding available for at least 2 years.
