Professor Jason Green at the University of Massachusetts Boston has an opening for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to start on or before 1 January 2022. The group’s research is interdisciplinary, focusing on complex chemical and physical systems and their dynamics away from equilibrium. Current efforts aim to program dynamic functioning materials by leveraging a variety of disciplines of theoretical science (nonequilibrium statistical mechanics, nonlinear dynamics, information theory, machine learning).
Qualifications: Candidates will work on NSF-funded projects to design and control pattern formation in reaction-diffusion systems using approaches from nonlinear dynamics and statistical mechanics. The position is open to recent PhDs in theoretical chemistry/physics or related areas with a demonstrated ability to conduct high-impact research. Research experience in complex systems and nonlinear dynamics would be a plus.
Location: The group is located at the University of Massachusetts, right on Boston Harbor and minutes from downtown Boston. Group members have office space in the Department of Chemistry and interact with researchers in physics and computational sciences. For more information, please explore our website.
To apply: Interested candidates should e-mail an application to Jason Green (email@example.com) including:
Candidates selected for further consideration will be asked to send letters of recommendation.
Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled.
