Supported by NIH, the laboratory of Dr. Hai-Bin Ruan in the Department of Integrative Biology and Physiology at University of Minnesota Medical School is seeking two Postdoctoral Associates to immediately join the team. The Ruan laboratory aims to elucidate molecular mechanisms underlying the intercellular communication in metabolic and immune systems. Using a combination of functional genetics, multi-omics, and comparative physiology, we currently conduct an integrated program in two major directions: Nutrient signaling at the interface of metabolism & immunity and Adipose tissue remodeling in obesity and aging.
Applicants should have a recent Ph.D. or equivalent degree in molecular & cellular biology, physiology, immunology, or a related field, highly self-motivated, and have a track record of productivity and good communication skills. Prior experience with animal models is highly desirable. Preference will be given to those who have expertise in metabolism and/or immunology.
Successful candidates will join a collaborative and vibrant community to study 1) intestinal relay of dietary and microbial signals to host metabolism and mucosal immunity or 2) developmental heterogeneity, regulatory mechanism, and pathophysiological impact of brown and bone marrow adipose tissues. NIH-scale salaries and standard University P&A fringe benefits will be offered.
To apply, please send a brief statement, a CV, and names of three references to email@example.com. Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis until the positions are filled.
