We are looking for a motivated postdoctoral researcher with a background and track record in chemical biology, protein biochemistry, and membrane protein expression/purification to join Dr. Oleh Khalimonchuk’s lab in the Department of Biochemistry, University of Nebraska-Lincoln.The successful candidate will work on a collaborative NIH-funded project including both the mechanistic and functional studies to deepen understanding of the function of two mitochondrial quality control factors of biomedical relevance. This work will help us better understand how failing mitochondrial protein homeostasis contributes to aging-related degenerative disorders such as ALS, Parkinsonism, and Alzheimer’s disease.
The Khalimonchuk lab is located in the George W. Beadle Center and offers a vigorous and supportive research environment and access to state-of-the-art proteomics, metabolomics, crystallography and advanced imaging facilities.
